Crossing the Gibraltar Strait
On the 24th of August 2018, I have crossed the Gibraltar Strait swimming! A great experience, as we had good weather and a calm sea. We could swim in more or less a strait line from Tarifa, Spain to Marocco, even got a visit from 3 Calderones, a small kind of whale, that came near us to see what we where doing!
I did the crossing of the Gibraltar Strait to support a Catholic charty project, Hogar Santa Marta, founded in 2006. Hogar Santa Marta is based in South America, concretely in Puerto Maldonado (Peru). And my aim is to raise funds for this great project.
Hogar Santa Marta is a children’s shelter, an orphanage which puts children first, providing a home, residential treatment, foster or adoptive homes, and education. Breaking the cycle of child abuse and giving abandoned and vulnerable children the opportunity of reaching a happy life, providing help to the present and future neediest children.
